Petrol prices go­ing up

Fuel prices are to rise in July, the UAE Min­istry of En­ergy an­nounced yes­ter­day. A new pric­ing pol­icy linked to global prices was in­tro­duced in Au­gust last year with the set monthly cost an­nounced on the 28th of each month. Spe­cial 95 has been priced at Dhs1.77 - up from Dhs1.75 in June, Dhs1.67 in May and Dhs1.51 in April. Su­per 98 has been priced at Dhs1.88 - up from Dhs1.86 in June, Dhs1.78 in May and Dhs1.62 in April. Diesel is priced at Dhs1.85 - up from Dhs1.77 in June and Dhs1.60 in May. Diesel stood at Dhs2.90 be­fore dereg­u­la­tion. The Min­istry of En­ergy has pre­vi­ously said dereg­u­la­tion will ben­e­fit the econ­omy and en­cour­age peo­ple to con­sider how much fuel they use. 7DAYS read­ers took to Face­book to com­ment on the new prices.
