Don’t listen to cold callers, get them to send an email

7 Days in Dubai - - WELLBEING -

We all suffer from cold callers offering us services that are rarely relevant or interesting. They would call you while you are in a meeting, driving, or roaming overseas. And they will keep calling again and again offering you the very same thing. Simply because the telemarketing is mostly outsourced to several companies and all of them are using the same database. I appeal to everyone - don’t listen to them, and even if you find the offer interesting ask them to send the details by email. If you like the offer, don’t buy it from the calling agent. Buy it directly from the website. Do not encourage the telemarketing to keep harassing all of us. In the US, the rule is clear. They can call you only on the landline and never on your cell phone. Here in the UAE it is the other way around: ‘Good morning Sir, I’m calling you from XYZ Bank, is this a good time to talk to you?’’ What is it regarding?’ ‘It is regarding our new offer for a free for life credit card, Sir: do you hold any credit card from XYZ bank?’ Well, if you are really calling from XYZ bank, you would know. Right? Sam Dubai
