Kicking his workmate in the groin for being late has led to a suspended prison sentence for a taxi driver in Dubai.

The 25-year-old driver was waiting for his Pakistani countryman to deliver the cab when he assaulted him with another friend and damaged the victim’s testicles.

Dubai Court of First Instance was told that 53year Pakistani victim returned the car 10 minutes late to the accused, who was angry and started assaulting him.

The victim said in records: “I finished my shift and returned the car 10 minutes late, when he became angry and start insulting me.

“He assaulted me and I fought back but he kicked me in my testicles and knocked me to the ground. I couldn’t stand because of the pain and another person was assaulting me too.”

Other workers surrounded the fight and called for an ambulance and police while the attackers escaped from the scene.

“I was transferred to Dubai Hospital and spent several days recovering. After a couple of days I felt pain again and took a vacation for treatment in my country,” the victim added.

A medical report showed that the victim has suffered log-term damage to his testicles.

Dubai Police arrested the defendant, who confessed to the assault but the second suspect is still at large.

The accused was given a three month suspended prison sentence.
