Reader calls for travelator rules after mum with pushchair causes panic

7 Days in Dubai - - DEAR 7DAYS -

“Some continents breed naturally polite people. They are calm, patient, gracious and considerate towards others so a little education and they are able to grasp how things work better when everyone cooperate. The population you meet here are largely uneducated and live by ‘me first’ way of life. So unfortunately rules and regulations on how to properly use public areas would fall on deaf years, you can’t teach common sense!!”

ANONYMOUS

“At both ends of the escalator, and probably in the middle too, there are red buttons for emergency stopping. Why no one pushed them? And how come no security guards were available at both ends during a busy day? On regular days there seems to be security guards more than shoppers!” NAWAF AG
