Seller concerned he was scammed by car buyer

7 Days in Dubai - - DEAR 7DAYS -

I just wanted to share this experience as the more I think about it, the more I wonder whether it’s my imagination - or did it really happen? The story goes - buyer comes to see car (not expensive), he likes, he leaves deposit of 25% of car value (a figure I suggested but one he agreed to without question), on agreement he can take car to garage for mechanical check. Off he goes (normally I would go with him but work would not allow, I took photo of his Emirates ID and business card etc). Three hours later he calls to say he is returning car but the a/c is not working. Now I have never had a problem with the a/c at all. He says he still wants the car as he likes it but I need to fix the a/c. I duly get the a/c fixed (new compressor, sensor, receiver and programming = Dhs4000), he turns up at the registration centre, does not even look at the car and we complete the transfer. This happened two days ago - and the more I think about it the more suspicious I get. I wonder if anything like this has happened to other readers? Is it me having an over-active imagination? Thoughts and experiences please. Zaccy Dubai
