Reader causing stink over sewage leak at apartment

7 Days in Dubai - - DEAR 7 DAYS... -

This past weekend I had a very unfortunate incidence occur in my apartment. I came home to find a sewerage leak (yes you read it correctly, raw sewage) in my kitchen from the above apartment. I will spare you the details but to make a long story short, I had to get rid of a bunch of appliances and various other items in my kitchen as they were covered in human waste. Now I just received my official “we won’t be paying out your claim” email from my insurance provider (a very well-known one here in the UAE). Reasons are: 1 - your policy only covers you for water leakage and it wasn’t water that leaked on your kitchen and 2 - the leak was from another apartment so they should take the blame. Now, I’m sitting in a situation where my building management is saying its not their fault, my insurance is saying they won’t cover it and there isn’t even anyone currently living in the apartment above me who I can ask to pay for the damages. Can anyone provide me with assistance on what to do? Between a rock and a sewage covered kitchen UAE They are not serious buyers, but waste precious hours for those under time pressure to downsize or sell up completely. Who are these people? Are they not busy enough at their workstations that they can spend hours doing this? If certain mobile numbers have bought no items over a period of time, they should be banned from these sites. This is not the way to while away a boring shift... They are causing damage to someone else! AMH UAE
