Jordanian Prime Minister Hani Mulqi has met with a Turkish delegation to discuss future Turkish investments in Jordan, with the Kingdom willing to broaden economic and developmental ties with Ankara. Mulqi pointed to the gains the Turkish private sector would reap from simplifying the rules of origin agreement that Jordan signed with the European Union. Jordan’s News Agency, Petra, quoted Mulqi as saying: “The simplified rules of origin deal would encourage Turkish industries to invest in Jordan and export their products, particularly fertilisers, to European markets.” Mulqi urged the Turkish business community to take advantage of “this historic opportunity”.
