Study: investors prefer property
Real estate is most people’s preferred investment, according to a survey of home buyers and investors in the GCC and Egypt. The Real Estate Barometer study, conducted by market research firm YouGov, found that more than half of respondents (54 per cent) would choose real estate as their preferred investment category, followed by stocks (13 per cent) and precious metals (11 per cent). The research also indicated that the UAE is one of the most appealing countries in the world in which to invest in real estate, with 65 per cent of respondents citing it as the most attractive option within the Middle East, while 64 per cent believed that Dubai is the prime city in which to buy property in the region. The survey was conducted in partnership with Informa, the organisers of property exhibition Cityscape Global, which takes place at Dubai World Trade Centre from September 6-8.
