7 Days in Dubai - - LIFE -

Talulah Riley has everything. She’s an actress, author and on-off wife (it’s complicated) of worldchanging billionaire Elon Musk, the man behind the Tesla electric car firm and SpaceX rockets. But despite the private jets and home in California, the Englishwoman, 30, admits to suffering from panic attacks. Talulah has just released her debut novel, Acts of Love, centred on a hard-nosed female journalist. She explains: “It’s not related to anything except existential dread, and it could happen any time, anywhere. The first time it happens, you feel like you’re dying.” The 30-year-old, still ‘best friends’ with Musk despite filing for divorce earlier this year, credits acting for helping her through the episodes which first started when she was a teenager. She adds: “Once your body’s been through it a few times, you realise it’s just something you have to sit out. It can be a tight pain in the chest and dizziness. I’m getting a lot better at managing them. I’ll remove myself and go and lie down with my legs up and do deep breathing.”
