Rio medal haul shows why Scotland should stick together with England

Firstly I would like to congratulate all Olympians that participated in the Rio games, well done to all. Having a quick look at the medal table I feel that the medal haul by GB was very impressive considering the size and population of the British isles. One article I stumbled across gave a breakdown of where the medal winners came from, England ‘bagged’ 103 medals whereas Scotland only managed a paltry 16. If Scotland had participated as an independent country it would have ranked 15th and placed between Spain and Kenya. Statistics don’t lie and this demonstrates that an independent Scotland would be very vulnerable and open to be pushed around like a small child in the playground. The results clearly demonstrate that Scotland should stay aligned with their ‘big brother’ as England offers protection, loyalty and strength always. Englaisie Andy UAE
