Readers still not convinced by letter writer’s idea for mandatory school buses

“Rule is that parents are to be there at drop-off point and pick-up point while taking school bus irrespective of the age. Hence might as well use own transport.”

LOVELY PAUL

“I had to take the bus to my university and I was on a sickening ride for an hour and a half every morning and an hour and a half every evening to get back home. A ride that normally takes 30 to 45 minutes by driving. Why? Because I live in Sharjah. Have you considered the strain it puts on a child to go through such a long bumpy ride every day if they had to head to school like this? I was on the medium sized buses so it filled up faster. Imagine how long it takes to fill up those large ones. Imagine a third grader or 5th grader going through it. It’s simply a ridiculous idea.”
