ABU DHABI MAKE HIS­TORY AT THE 6 HOURS OF MEX­ICO

Khaled Al Qubaisi has spo­ken of his pride of singing the UAE na­tional an­them on the podium after Team Abu Dhabi-Pro­ton Rac­ing stormed to vic­tory at the 6 Hours of Mex­ico. They be­came the first Arab coun­try to win a round in the FIA World En­durance Cham­pi­onship (WEC) after se­cur­ing first place at the Au­to­dromo Her­manos Ro­driguez Cir­cuit. Al Qubaisi said: “It was a very tough race un­der very chal­leng­ing con­di­tions where strat­egy was the key to stay­ing ahead; but we did it in the end. Ev­ery­thing came to­gether. I am very happy and grate­ful for the vic­tory.This is fan­tas­tic for the whole team. “I am told that this is the first time the UAE na­tional an­them has been played at an international motorsport world cham­pi­onship. I ded­i­cate this win to the UAE and all of the Emi­rates.” The team has now moved up to sec­ond over­all in LMGTE Am class with four races still to go.
