I re­newed my pri­vate health in­sur­ance pol­icy on July 28, but I have not re­ceived my re­newed health in­sur­ance card. I called and they said the de­lay was be­cause they have a back­log of re­newals and cards to process! They have my money and now they couldn’t care less. It might seem triv­ial, but the re­al­ity is that without a cur­rent HI card - you will have to pay, up front, the to­tal cost of your med­i­cal fees AND it will take your UAE in­sur­ance provider upto four weeks to re­fund you - though you have al­ready paid for your pol­icy weeks ago!
