Strauss unhappy after pair pull out of tour
England team director Andrew Strauss has spoken of his “disappointment” at the decision of Alex Hales and Eoin Morgan to miss the upcoming tour of Bangladesh. The duo opted against travelling, despite highly regarded security advisor Reg Dickason assuring England management that it is safe to do so. That leaves England without their record-breaking one-day opener Hales and their ODI captain Morgan. “While we understand and respect Eoin and Alex’s decision we are disappointed that they have made themselves unavailable to tour Bangladesh,” said Strauss. “We have had open and honest conversations with all the players about the security arrangements in Bangladesh and at this stage we are not expecting any other individuals to withdraw. “As with all England tours, the safety and security of players and staff is of the utmost importance to ECB. “We will continue to monitor the situation in Bangladesh, take advice and consider the appropriate steps up to and throughout the five weeks we are on tour.” The rest of the England squad will travel to Bangladesh for a five-week tour on September 29 with Jos Buttler stepping up to lead the side.
