Crown Prince and Obama in talks

HH Sheikh Mo­hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Com­man­der of the UAE Armed Forces, has spo­ken with US Pres­i­dent Barack Obama in a tele­phone call to dis­cuss the fight against ex­trem­ism and ter­ror­ism. State news agency WAM re­ported that the lead­ers re­viewed the fields of co­op­er­a­tion and the ex­ist­ing co­or­di­na­tion be­tween the two coun­tries, es­pe­cially on is­sues re­lated to fight­ing ex­trem­ism and ter­ror­ism as well as the two sides’ pledge to sup­port peace and sta­bil­ity. The con­ver­sa­tion came af­ter Sheikh Mo­hamed’s meet­ing with the Pope on on Thurs­day, dur­ing which the two fig­ures dis­cussed tol­er­ance be­tween cul­tures and re­li­gions, and the need to stand “in sol­i­dar­ity against those who pro­mote re­li­gious strife, sec­tar­i­an­ism, racism and in­tol­er­ance, thereby threat­en­ing the se­cu­rity and sta­bil­ity of the world”, WAM re­ported.
