Solutions to tackle future challenges
Self-driving cars, robot builders and 3-D organ printing are among the ideas selected for the 12-week Dubai Future Accelerators programme. After 2,274 applications from 73 countries, 30 companies will work with seven government authorities to develop and test the selected products and solutions. The technologies will offer solutions to the challenges facing key sectors, including health, education, energy and water, transport, infrastructure and security. Mohammed Al Gergawi, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Dubai Future Foundation, said: “These accelerators will serve as a catalyst to research and development within the most strategic sectors, such as education, health, infrastructure, transportation and energy. “They will provide a platform to develop new and innovative solutions to the most pressing challenges facing society.” Among the programme’s 30 finalists include companies such as Next Future Transportation, which specialises in masstransit solutions and self-driving vehicles; Construction Robotics, specialising in construction solutions that increase productivity five-fold; and Honeywell, the Fortune 100 company working on developing advanced digital systems for the healthcare sector.
