Dubai residents aren’t interested in investing in solar energy

7 Days in Dubai - - LETTERS -

“Although solar panels are meant to absorb energy from the sun, but they are not meant for extremely hot weather conditions like what we are facing in Dubai. Also, the dust and sandy climate requires constant cleaning of the panels to avoid any damages. Hence, although going green should be in everyone’s plans, I don’t think using solar panels would be cost friendly nor advisable in Dubai as they will have a much shorter lifespan.”

OMID ROSHAN

“The biggest part of domestic load in Dubai is for cooling. Unless you have a very big solar installation you won’t be able to use them for airconditioners.”

ADNAN BUTT

“Set up costs maybe too expensive. The U.K. Government give discounts!!! Wonder if Dubai will.”
