Salons fined for dirty blades and towels
A dozen male salons in Abu Dhabi have been fined for flouting hygiene regulations. Abu Dhabi Municipality yesterday said the fines came after they inspected 63 premises in Al Wathba. Inspectors found attendants using soiled towels and cutting and shaving equipment that was not sterilised, among other failings. The offenders were fined Dhs1,000 each. The inspection teams targeted salons that were already ranked low for compliance with health requirements. Staff at the failing salons were educated about hygiene, the municipality said.
