With two runner-up finishes in the last three weeks, Luke Joy hopes a victory is just around the corner as he prepares to play in the Ascorp Golf Citizen Abu Dhabi Open at Yas Links. After losing the Dubai Creek Open and Golf Citizen Classic in playoffs, the 28-year-old hopes to impress on his ‘home course’ in the UAE capital. “The goal is to eventually get into contention week in and week out and start winning golf tournaments,” said Joy. “I feel like I am in the zone and I have the selfbelief in my game which is the key. “I am pretty familiar with conditions at Yas Links, but still you have to execute your shots and play as well as you can since the standard of golf on the MENA Golf is very high.” Trying to deny Joy will be fellow Englishmen Zane Scotland, Lee Corfield, Andrew Marshall and Carlos Balmaseda, all multiple winners of the tour.
