Sheikh Khalid bin Faisal Al Qassimi was pleased with his latest round of testing as he prepares for a tough race in the penultimate round of the FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rallies, Rally OiLibya of Morocco. Taking place this week, Al Qassimi has had to get used to a new vehicle – the Peugeot 2008 DKR – and a new terrain. But the Emirati rally driver was pleased to have been able to test the new car ahead of a week of competitive racing. “We had a very successful test day on a 3Km long gravel stage shared by other teams,” said Al Qassimi. “I started the day driving the 2008 DKR aggressively just to know the car more and to understand the driving style and car’s limits. “After 25km of testing we discussed with the engineer the set up options, it was a very good opportunity to learn new things about the car. “We are comfortable with the car and will try to gain experience from each mile in this new challenge.”
