Gulf banks focus on tackling terror funding
Combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism are among the challenges that were discussed at the meeting of GCC central banks. Mubarak Rashed Al Mansoori, Governor of the UAE Central Bank, was among the delegates to attend the 66th Meeting of the Committee for the Governors of the GCC Central Banks and Monetary Institutions in Riyadh. Delegates also discussed potential training for gulf bank employees with European central banks. “In return, GCC countries could lend their expertise to facilitate the development of Islamic financing in European countries,” UAE news agency WAM reported.
