Great job by the vets, but wild animals should not be kept as pets…

7 Days in Dubai - - DEAR 7 DAYS -

Thanks to the coverage by 7DAYS (‘Claws out for big cats’ – October 3). Why should the wild animals be owned as pets, we can very well go to the zoo. These exotic animals are profoundly stressed, being driven out of their natural habitat and kept in a alien environment! Just because they can’t speak for themselves. Owning them as pets, borders on animal cruelty. There are many endangered species around us and in the world, which needs our immediate attention and concerted efforts. One of the many is the Pangolin, the most trafficked mammal in the world. Live and Let Live! Appreciate the efforts of the Dubai Vets in alleviating the pain and trauma of these improperly cared for and neglected ‘Exotic Pets’. It’s alarming. Bhuvana Dubai
