UAE SET FOR THAILAND TEST IN ABU DHABI
The UAE resume their battle for a place at the 2018 World Cup tonight [8pm kick-off time] when they host Thailand at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Mahdi Ali’s side began the group stage with an impressive 2-1 victory over Japan, before falling to a narrow 1-0 defeat against Australia five days later. The UAE are currently fourth in the six-team group, with only the top two automatically qualifying for the World Cup. The third-placed team will have to come through two play-off rounds to reach Russia. Thailand, meanwhile, have lost both of their group games, conceding three goals and scoring none. The UAE will hope to gain all three points ahead of a tough game in Saudi Arabia on October 11. Both games are on BeinSports 1HD.
