DAY TO MISS WORLD CUP OF GOLF AND AUSSIE OPEN
Jason Day has been forced to withdraw from the World Cup of Golf and the Australian Open due to injury. The world No. 1 will miss the two events in his homeland after straining a ligament in his lower back towards the end of the PGA Tour season, which forced him to miss the Tour Championship. “I regret that I will be unable to come home to Australian this year,” said Day. I was looking forward to playing the Australian Open and teaming with Adam Scott on one of my favourite courses,
Kingston Heath, the following week at the World Cup. “My plan is to return home to Australia in 2017. My best wishes to all in Sydney at the Open and to Adam and Team Australia in Melbourne at the World Cup. I appreciate the understanding and patience of my Australian fans.” The Australian Open will be played on November 17-20 in Sydney with the World Cup taking place a week later in Melbourne.
