Queue ‘bosses’ to blame for road chaos

7 Days in Dubai - - DEAR 7 DAYS -

I drive most of the time during peak hours and you to analyse driver behaviour, particularly queue jumpers. These guys never bother the tolerance levels of patient drivers in line. They skip the congestion and form their own line. The illegally constructed new lane of vehicles tries to jump into the existing lanes, which forms a bottleneck and terrible slow down. In order to provide space to such bad drivers to fall into the right lane, we end up being pushed onto the emergency lane. After these bosses enter our lane, we have to fall back and follow them. Even when the emergency lane is occupied unintentionally, there’s no chance for an ambulance or fire engine to pass by. It’s high time to deploy undercover police to hook and fine such hooligans. My request to all is to avoid this habit, as the emergency vehicles may be carrying your family or friend. You must not regret later. Daniel Varghese Dubai
