Sam­sung is send­ing fire-re­sis­tant pack­ages to US cus­tomers as a pre­cau­tion against pos­si­ble fires or ex­plo­sions from Galaxy Note 7s they re­turn to re­tail­ers. How­ever, UAE-based cus­tomers won’t be re­ceiv­ing fire-re­sis­tant boxes be­cause there were no recorded in­ci­dents here. Sam­sung is of­fer­ing pre­paid ship­ping boxes as an op­tion for US con­sumers who pur­chased the phones on its web­site, Sam­sung.com. It said con­sumers should visit the car­ri­ers’ web­sites for re­call in­struc­tions. It’s not all doom and gloom for the Korean firm as a num­ber of com­pa­nies in the UAE – eMax, Ax­iom and Speed – have said there has been a no­tice­able rise in de­mand for the Galaxy Edge phone from peo­ple who pre­vi­ously owned Note 7s.
