You’ve heard of reality and you’ve heard of virtual reality, but what about technology that takes you in between the two? Microsoft’s HoloLens promises to offer just that in a new visual system the developer believes could be revolutionary for education, business and the medical world. The system also allows users to stream internet footage, watch a video or play a game as if they were inside the programme. “Microsoft has been working on many artificial intelligence technologies like the Chat Box, fieldprogrammable gate array, machine learning technologies and the HoloLens,” said Necip Ozyucel, the Cloud and Enterprise Business Group Lead. “Japan Airlines is using HoloLens for training purposes – as it is not easy to have many jet engines for students to practice on.” Dubai Government has jumped on board with DEWA and Dubai Police announcing they will be the first public services to use HoloLens.
