Airlines should look after flyers with peak-time offers

7 Days in Dubai - - EVENTS -

Regarding Tim Clark’s statement about it never being cheaper to fly than now, yes he is right if you fly in the non-peak periods, I get offers all the time from my airline to travel here and there for cheap prices, but never offers to travel in peak times like, Ramadan, school holidays, Christmas and New Year. These are the main time I and many of my friends travel and each year the cost has been going up and up over these periods, I would say to offset the cost of the discounts in nonpeak times when few people travel. I have been here 11 years and have never seen the cost reduce over these periods. These popular times, when most people travel, the airlines should be looking after them then so they will have more of their hard earn salary in their pockets to enjoy their holiday, but hey, slap myself in the face, I’d be dreaming, the moon can’t turn blue. Tezza the Aussie Dubai me to go to jail. I was awaiting two transfers from Europe to pay for six months’ rent. I have done that for the past three years. Just to be on the safe side, I do them 12 days prior to my landlord cashing my rent cheque. On this occasion one of the transfers arrived within 2 days as usual but the other had not arrived. I called my bank in Europe who told me the funds were with the main remittance branch in Deira and they could do nothing else from their side. I called the bank, went to the head office, raised a complaint, etc. Absolutely no one can tell me where the transfer is or why the delay. The only thing I am able to do is to raise a complaint that would be answered within 15 days.... Well, I do not have 15 days as my landlord will cash the cheque tomorrow. They had the nerve to tell me it is my duty to make sure the money is in my account. News flash: I did my job, I transferred the funds, with plenty of time to arrive. Is it not their job to make my transfer happen? It is a criminal offence to bounce a cheque and I told them my check would bounce. The reply: “Sorry Mam, you have to raise a complaint and wait for 15 days.” No one can tell me where my money is, yet they are happy to call you everyday to offer services. Outraged Dubai
