QUIROS AND PEPPERELL LOSE EUROPEAN TOUR CARDS
Alvaro Quiros and Eddie Pepperell both failed to secure their European Tour cards after finishing outside the top 111 in the Race to Dubai rankings. Spain’s Quiros earned only one top-10 finish in 23 starts this season, while England’s Eddie Pepperell also lost his card after a double bogey on his final hole in the Portugal Masters saw him slip down to 114th in the standings. Graeme Storm also lost out thanks to a bogey on the 18th, a costly result that saw David Howell claim the all important 111th spot and keep his European Tour card. Italian Edoardo Molinari, who played in the 2010 Ryder Cup, also finished outside the top 110 but keeps his card due to an injury exemption. While there was disappointment for many in Portugal, Mikko Korhonen handled the pressure superbly as he finished third to move from 116th to 86th.
