Fat-busting US mayor to tell Abu Dhabi how to make fitness easy
An American mayor who transformed his city from one the most obese in US into one of the fittest is to tell an Abu Dhabi summit how Oklahoma shed a combined one million pounds.
Mick Cornett challenged the residents of his city after it was listed as one of the fattest in the country in 2008.
Four years later, more than 150,000 residents of Oklahoma collectively crossed the one million pounds mark and they’re still going.

Last week, Dubai Municipality released the results of a survey that showed 64,000 pupils – 33 per cent of the school population – were overweight or obese, with school canteens singled out for serving junk food.
Rashid Hospital also warned half of the country’s stroke victims are under 45 – the global average is 80 per cent over 65.
