Letter writer: ‘Yes there are jobs out there but employers always go for cheap option’

“You did not read the letter clearly. The point is: at this time expats are positioning themselves as so desperate to stay here that they write desperately to every social media platform about their woes. Greedy employers (who actually DO need them) use their advertised woes as a tool against them. And this is the letter point: stop giving them that apprehend. They need you and the more and louder the woe the lower the wage. YOU are handing employers a power and creating a fear amongst job seekers that “I had better take this low wage because I have seen online how hard it is to get a job so I should be happy that I have been selected”. My team are the best and are treated and compensated as such. They are not desperate for work and would tell me where to go if I started to play games with them. I need them. They need me.”

EMPLOYER

“What’s your point? If a job can be done by someone cheaper than you, I will take them. Just like you look for a cheaper garage to service your car. Makes sense to me.”
