STU­DENTS TURN OUT IN FORCE FOR ESKC

Hun­dreds of UAE stu­dents, teach­ers and par­ents con­verged on the Dubai Kart­drome over the week­end to reg­is­ter for the new sea­son of the Emi­rates Schools Kart­ing Championship (ESKC), with young driv­ers re­ceiv­ing a free test drive on the out­door cir­cuit. The ESKC was founded in 2015 with the in­tent of pro­vid­ing a plat­form for stu­dents across the UAE to par­tic­i­pate in com­pet­i­tive kart rac­ing. The se­ries aims to en­cour­age young­sters to adopt new skill sets while be­ing able to en­joy the com­pet­i­tive na­ture of kart­ing. It was de­signed to aid the process of form­ing and op­er­at­ing a school team, where stu­dents could learn the im­por­tance of team­work, strat­egy and or­gan­i­sa­tion. So far there have been 22 teams reg­is­ter for the championship, with 61 stu­dents com­pet­ing in the adult class and 105 in the ju­nior class. The ju­nior cat­e­gory is a new in­tro­duc­tion this sea­son and is for stu­dents aged be­tween seven and 12.
