STUDENTS TURN OUT IN FORCE FOR ESKC
Hundreds of UAE students, teachers and parents converged on the Dubai Kartdrome over the weekend to register for the new season of the Emirates Schools Karting Championship (ESKC), with young drivers receiving a free test drive on the outdoor circuit. The ESKC was founded in 2015 with the intent of providing a platform for students across the UAE to participate in competitive kart racing. The series aims to encourage youngsters to adopt new skill sets while being able to enjoy the competitive nature of karting. It was designed to aid the process of forming and operating a school team, where students could learn the importance of teamwork, strategy and organisation. So far there have been 22 teams register for the championship, with 61 students competing in the adult class and 105 in the junior class. The junior category is a new introduction this season and is for students aged between seven and 12.
