To­tal trade of goods be­tween Mid­dle East and North Africa (MENA) and Sub-Sa­ha­ran Africa (SSA) reached peak lev­els dur­ing re­cent years, hav­ing pro­gressed at a pro­nounced pace, ac­cord­ing to a report re­leased by Thom­son Reuters at the Thom­son Reuters Africa Trad­ing Sum­mit. The UAE ac­counted for largest share (33 per cent) of deals by MENA com­pa­nies in SSA, while South Africa was the main tar­get for ac­qui­si­tions by MENA firms. To­tal cross-bor­der merg­ers and ac­qui­si­tion deals be­tween MENA and SSA to­talled $24 bil­lion in 10 years.
