Air passenger traffic rebounding
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) said global passenger traffic results for September show that demand grew 7 per cent compared to the same month in 2015, adding it was the strongest year-over-year increase in seven months. Airlines from the Middle East and Asia Pacific posted the fastest traffic growth for the fourth consecutive month, said IATA. “September’s growth in passenger demand was healthy. Importantly, this rebound from August weakness suggests that travel demand is showing its resilience in the aftermath of terror attacks,” said Alexandre de Juniac, IATA’s Director General and CEO.
