Race to Su­per­series Fi­nals heats up

The top bad­minton play­ers in the world will be vy­ing for a share of the $1 mil­lion prize pool at the sea­son-end­ing Dubai World Su­per­series Fi­nals 2016 that takes place from De­cem­ber 14-18 at the Ham­dan Sports Com­plex. Thai­land’s Ratan­chok Inan­ton and In­dia’s Saina Ne­hwal have strug­gled af­ter early ex­its from Rio 2016 but are still within the top 10 in the women’s rank­ings. Chi­nese Taipei’s 2014 Su­per­series win­ner Tai Tzu Ying (pic­tured) said: “I re­ally hope I can do it again this year. I should qual­ify based on my rank­ing now, but I will con­tinue work­ing hard to make sure I get there.” In the men’s cat­e­gory three Danes – Jan O Jor­gensen, Han­sKris­tian Vit­tinghus and Vic­tor Ax­elsen – are in the top 10 while China’s Olympic and world cham­pion Chen Long will get a wild card en­try for the event.
