An Instagram user has been jailed for two years for posting images of a police officer in uniform, with a caption claiming that he was gay and offered sexual services. Dubai Criminal Court convicted the 29year-old Filipino for threatening to defame the Yemeni officer through social media. The man will be deported after serving his jail term. The court was told the pair were accused of having a gay affair and the officer is due to stand trial in the near future. The officer had denied the affair but did say they were friends. He said the Filipino then said he wanted Dhs8,000 or he would post the message on the social media site. The officer reported the friend to police, but they both ended up being charged. The cop was questioned by his supervisors and later arrested. The police officer has been referred to the Dubai Court of Misdemeanor to face the charge of having consensual sex.
