CONFIDENT UGANDA ARE AIMING TO IMPRESS
Uganda team manager Michael Wandera believes his squad will prove their quality when the HSBC World Sevens Series gets under way in Dubai next month. The Cranes were recently crowned the best side in Africa after beating Namibia 38-19 in the final of the Africa Rugby Cup Sevens in Kenya. They have just finished an intense training camp and Wandera expects them to hold their own at the Dubai Sevens. “We have been with them for over eight weeks and I think these are the best of the best at the moment,” he said. Head coach Tolbert Onyango also believes his side have improved since their victory over Namibia in September. “We have seen a lot of improvements since the Africa Cup and we are hoping for the best,” said Onyango. “It’s a good chance for us to test ourselves.” Uganda start their campaign on December 2 against South Africa before facing United States and Scotland in pool B.
