Makeup artist Kate Randall gives four readers a fresh new look and shares some great tips on how to make the most of your best features (and how to minimise your worst ones)

“I have been doing the same look for over a decade and wanted a different look and to try something new. Kate helped me to move out of my comfort zone and experiment with colours that I would have never “I left Rozina’s eyebrows natural as they were thick and dark already. But I did suggest she shorten the outer length a little. You can work out the ideal length of your eyebrows by running an imaginary straight line from the edge of your nose, past the outer corner of your eye. Eyebrows are very important because they can also make your nose appear narrower or thicker – the closer your brows are to each other, the narrower your nose appears and vice versa. They used to say to run an imaginary line from your nostril past the inner corner of your eye to find where your brow should start. But if you have a naturally wide nose, the gap between your brows will be too narrow and look odd. So use common sense. used. I really loved what she did with my eyes – she created a look that was exotic and beautiful! I have tried to recreate the look at home since then, but with blues instead of green. It was an amazing experience and I got a lot of really useful pointers from Kate. “I chose a lipliner the same as her natural lip colour and applied it all over her lips, topping it off with a natural-colour lipstick to give a fresh, yet defined, look. “Rozina wanted to freshen up her look. She said she always wore dark red lips and traditional kohl eyeliner. I wanted to try to give her a softer look all round and I wanted to take advantage of her large eyelids by using colour. I used a light eye primer first to create a blank canvas to paint on to. Using a light base makes colours pop.
