LOBBY GROUPS Whether you’re checking on emails, ordering a refreshing brew or organising an important business meet, the hotel lobby lounge is the convenient catch-all venue. Dominic Ellis highlights some of his corporate favourites
new Port Cochere, marble entrance and abstract wall sculptures – and now attention turns to the main lobby, whose ceiling and architectural columns will be upgraded to a white finish for a more modern look. Work is scheduled to finish by the end of 2017.
The layout creates a fluid space with pockets of seating, separated by low shelving units to create zones while maintaining a connection to the rest of the lobby. The ambience will be enhanced by warm-coloured floor lamps and display lights and large circular display shelf centrepiece which wraps around the core.
The Café serving the lobby has been updated with new furniture and counters and a timber floor outlines the café zone from the rest of the lobby area, with a large potted tree introducing some greenery.
