EMIRATES WILL UNVEIL its enhanced A380 Onboard Lounge at ITB Berlin ahead of a planned July launch. While retaining the horseshoe-shaped bar, the new lounge will offer more seating along the windows on both sides of the bar and each area will have a table and window view. Overall, the lounge will hold 26 passengers at a time, including eight seated.
Sir Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline, said: “In our latest revamp, we have taken inspiration from private yacht cabins, and . . . we have made it more intimate and conducive for our passengers to socialise.”
Note the new lounge will be on all new A380s and won’t be retrofitted. It will be more airey with lighter champagne colours, new blinds, LED mood lighting and surround sound and feature a 55-inch LCD screen.
Qatar Airways’ new business class seat will be unveiled on the first day of ITB Berlin (March 8) and displayed in Hall 2.2 (booth 208). Group Chief Executive, HE Akbar Al Baker, said he looks forward to sharing its “revolutionary new patented business class seat” with the media. It is believed the new seats, set to be rolled out on A350s and B777-300ERs, will feature sliding doors for greater privacy.
