Business Traveller (Middle East) - - Upfront -

SMARTPHONE GATES, biometric facial technology and automated border controls are among the key new measures being introduced at DXB. Emirates says the biometric measures and automated gates are now underway and aim to be fully completed within the next 12-18 months. The facial recognition solution will integrate with the UAE Wallet enabling passengers to pass through departures and receive automated access to first and business class lounges. The One Gate smart gates at T3 departures are designed to “supplement the existing e-gates”, as are smartphone gates, which also works with the UAE wallet. Passengers will scan a barcode generated by the app as you pass through and provide a fingerprint.
