Etihad to drop San Francisco
ETIHAD WILL DROP San Francisco from October 29, a route which started as daily services three years ago and was reduced to three-a-week earlier this year. The airline attributed the suspension to “lower than planned yields and load factors” and follows increasing pressure on US routes for Middle East carriers following the travel and laptop bans. Passengers have the option to rebook on partners or receive a full refund. • China Southern Airlines recently started putting its CZ code on Etihad Airways’ daily services between Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu and Abu Dhabi.
