Emi­rates ex­pands seat se­lec­tion charges, raises Brus­sels to dou­ble daily

EMI­RATES HAS IN­TRO­DUCED an amended ad­vance seat se­lec­tion pol­icy, with econ­omy pas­sen­gers fac­ing charges of up to $135 per flight to se­lect the most sought-af­ter seats. Busi­ness and first class pas­sen­gers ben­e­fit from free ad­vance seat se­lec­tion and all pas­sen­gers may se­lect seats free of charge when on­line check-in opens 48 hours be­fore their flight.

The car­rier orig­i­nally launched ad­vance seat se­lec­tion fees last year for econ­omy pas­sen­gers on Spe­cial and Saver fares. The new pol­icy sees a range of fees for cer­tain ‘ex­tra value’ seats which range ac­cord­ing to seat, route and des­ti­na­tion. Th­ese in­clude: of the plane al­low­ing you to dis­em­bark deck of the A380, and usu­ally closer to the $55-$135 Emi­rates will in­tro­duce a sec­ond daily flight the re­turn EK182 de­parts 2015 and will B777-300ER ser­vice pro­vides more op­tions
