Ax­iom Tele­com ap­points Buzzman

Dubai-based in­de­pen­dent agency Buzzman Mid­dle East has won a com­pet­i­tive pitch to han­dle the cre­ative ac­count for a new brand by Ax­iom Tele­com.

Buzzman will han­dle above- and be­low-the-line ad­ver­tis­ing, as well as so­cial me­dia for Switch, a new smart­phone and tablet cus­tomi­sa­tion ser­vice to be launched by the UAE re­tailer.

Four other agen­cies pitched for the ac­count, which will cover the UAE and Saudi Ara­bia.

Fahad al-Ban­nai, chief ex­ec­u­tive and founder of Ax­iom Tele­com, said: “We were look­ing to part­ner with an agency that un­der­stands our DNA and vi­sion in launch­ing our new cus­tomi­sa­tion ser­vices.

“Buzzman has demon­strated strong strate­gic plan­ning skills and cre­ative tal­ent, as well as a deep un­der­stand­ing of lo­cal con­sumer needs.”

Adil Zghaoui, gen­eral man­ager of Buzzman Mid­dle East, added: “Ax­iom Tele­com is a great lo­cal suc­cess story and we are proud to part­ner with them to launch the Switch brand.”

The win fol­lows Buzzman’s re­cent suc­cesses land­ing ac­counts with Ger­man FMCG and in­dus­trial brand Henkel, and Dutch dairy Fries­land-Camp­ina.

The agency moved to Dubai in 2013 when it part­nered with Durex to launch the brand’s first con­dom de­liv­ery ser­vice.

Founded in 1997, Ax­iom Tele­com is the largest re­tailer and dis­trib­u­tor of mo­bile phones in the re­gion.
