Red Bull re­views cre­ative brief

Red Bull is re­view­ing its cre­ative brief in the re­gion, Cam­paign has learned. The en­ergy drink man­u­fac­turer last moved its ac­count from Saatchi & Saatchi to Lowe MENA (now Mul­lenLowe) in May 2011, a re­mit that cov­ered the lower Gulf. Saatchi had not been in­vited to pitch.

It is un­der­stood that the latest re­view is not a full pitch, and no brief has been sent out.

The brand was founded in 1987 and is well known for its For­mula One team and its spon­sor­ship of ex­treme sports­men and events such as a re­cent ‘cliff-div­ing’ com­pe­ti­tion held in Dubai Ma­rina.

A Red Bull spokesman said the com­pany was un­able to pro­vide com­ment for Cam­paign.

How­ever, in­dus­try sources say Red Bull’s mar­ket­ing team has been meet­ing with a num­ber of lo­cal agen­cies to re­assess its op­tions and test the mar­ket.
