Red Bull reviews creative brief
Red Bull is reviewing its creative brief in the region, Campaign has learned. The energy drink manufacturer last moved its account from Saatchi & Saatchi to Lowe MENA (now MullenLowe) in May 2011, a remit that covered the lower Gulf. Saatchi had not been invited to pitch.
It is understood that the latest review is not a full pitch, and no brief has been sent out.
The brand was founded in 1987 and is well known for its Formula One team and its sponsorship of extreme sportsmen and events such as a recent ‘cliff-diving’ competition held in Dubai Marina.
A Red Bull spokesman said the company was unable to provide comment for Campaign.
However, industry sources say Red Bull’s marketing team has been meeting with a number of local agencies to reassess its options and test the market.
