An­chor food Pro­fes­sion­als launches ‘baked with good­ness’

Fon­terra’s food­ser­vice brand An­chor Food Pro­fes­sion­als has launched the com­pe­ti­tion, ‘Baked With Good­ness’ in part­ner­ship with three es­tab­lish­ments – Revo Café at Möven­pick Ho­tel Ibn Bat­tuta Gate, Sale Su­cre Patis­serie and The Pizza Com­pany.

The com­pe­ti­tion comes fol­low­ing a sur­vey com­mis­sioned by An­chor Food Pro­fes­sion­als that re­vealed mil­len­ni­als in the UAE place greater value on what they put into their bodies and that 62 per cent of the UAE res­i­dents are will­ing to pay more for fresh, nat­u­ral and min­i­mally-pro­cessed in­gre­di­ents while eat­ing out.

“We know the peo­ple of the UAE are pas­sion­ate about food and there are some culi­nary artists out there who are mak­ing some re­ally in­no­va­tive cre­ations based on fam­ily recipes and their imag­i­na­tion. We are ex­cited to un­cover these as­pir­ing chefs and pro­vide them with a unique op­por­tu­nity to show­case their tal­ents in front of a panel of ex­perts,” said Man­fred Kohlen, re­gional se­nior ad­vi­sory chef, An­chor Food Pro­fes­sion­als.

“The culi­nary com­pe­ti­tion aligns to An­chor Food Pro­fes­sion­als’ com­mit­ment to pro­vid­ing the re­gion with the high­est qual­ity, all-nat­u­ral dairy prod­ucts di­rect from New Zealand, while lever­ag­ing the lat­est food trends in the UAE that sig­nal a turn to­wards nat­u­ral­ness.

“The grow­ing pref­er­ence for less pro­cessed, nat­u­ral in­gre­di­ents is great news for dairy as the ul­ti­mate all-nat­u­ral food – but­ter, which is just a churn away from milk, has seen a global surge in de­mand while full­cream milk is back in fash­ion,” he added.

The win­ning dish, which will be de­cided by An­chor Food Pro­fes­sion­als Head Chef Man­fred Kohlen and head chefs at each part­ner out­lets, will be placed on the menu of each of the three part­ners’ out­lets for one month. Ad­di­tion­ally the three win­ners will win an overnight stay and brunch for a fam­ily of four at Möven­pick Ho­tel Ibn Bat­tuta Gate, kitchen equip­ment gift vouch­ers and an ex­clu­sive culi­nary work­shop at the An­chor In­no­va­tion Cen­tre.
