Fragrance re­ally was the pi­o­neer – way be­fore we had Vic­to­ria Beck­ham in ca­hoots with Estée Lauder, or So­nia Rykiel (RIP) col­lab­o­rat­ing with MAC, it was the big, iconic scents that con­nected fash­ion with fragrance – from YSL’s Opium to Ar­pege by Lanvin. Even the 90s bore a few inim­itable aro­mas – Calvin Klein’s Ob­ses­sion, Thierry Mu­gler’s An­gel, even Jean-Paul Gaultier’s epony­mous spritz, housed in that cheeky glass torso.
