An Englishman in Italy
In the never-ending game of designer musical chairs, Bottega Veneta has named British designer Daniel Lee as their new creative director replacing Tomas Maier, who occupied the role for 17 years. Lee joins from Céline, where he worked under Phoebe Philo as director of ready-to-wear. The up-and-comer has also held stints at Maison Margiela, Balenciaga and Donna Karan. Will Lee shake up the brand’s traditional look? We certainly hope so. His first collection with the Italian brand shows next February.
