Thoughts on honour killing
I was dismayed by the real-life story of Mehvish Hakim, a 24-year-old widow and mother of two, who lost her husband so tragically (‘Widowed by honour killing’, July 19).
I only hope that she is able to educate her kids and bring them up with positive values so that they do not have any hate in their hearts for anybody and that they are emotionally successful in life as well.
ANURAG KUMAR, DUBAI It was so disheartening to read about hate crimes in this day and age (‘Widowed by honour killing’, July 19). I hope a non-profit organisation helps Mehvish Hakim find a purpose in life and she is able to give her kids a decent life and I really pray that those who killed her husband are put behind bars forever so that they realise that such heinous crimes will not be tolerated.
