Milk pud­ding with rose wa­ter

In­gre­di­ents 1 cup rice

2 cups wa­ter

3 cups whole milk

3/4 cup gran­u­lated sugar

2 1/2 tbsp corn­flour, dis­solved in 3 tbsp warm milk

2 tbsp rose wa­ter


1. In a large, heavy-bot­tomed pan, cook rice in wa­ter over a high heat for 20 min­utes or un­til ten­der. Add milk and sugar, turn heat down to low and sim­mer, stir­ring oc­ca­sion­ally.

2. Sim­mer for 45 min­utes or un­til creamy. Add corn­flour so­lu­tion and mix thor­oughly.

3. Add rose wa­ter and bring to a boil for 1 minute. Re­move from heat, leave to thicken for 5 min­utes, then spoon into bowls. Serve hot or cold.
